This site contains a few recent birth notices, but the search engine is difficult to use. It uses a Boolean “OR” logic per section, so any section containing all of the words you type in the “Search Words” box anywhere in an entire newspaper will be reported. If you search for Tom Jones, every issue with a section containing either Tom or Jones will be reported. There seems to be no way around this. Type in the name of the person you are searching for and add the keyword “births.” If you get too many results, try including a middle name and/or nickname. Word order and capitalization don't matter, but spelling must be exact. Leave the dates blank if you don't know them. If you know the approximate date, add at least two weeks to the “END DATE” because births typically do not appear in the paper immediately.
Florida birth records for the twentieth century are difficult to obtain because of privacy concerns. However, they can be very informative, and may lead you to additional sources of family information. The indexes in the table below are thought to be reasonably complete for the periods listed. The transcripts, however, are incomplete.
