First Families of Bay County Certificate Awards

Since 2009 this program has generated a huge amount of interest in the history, heritage, and pioneers of Bay County. This past June we presented 112 certificates to 16 descendants honoring 16 Bay County pioneers, 12 of whom were previously undocumented. We also presented six researcher certificates.

The awards were presented at the Annual Pioneer Picnic, sponsored by the Historical Society of Bay County, at the Grace Presbyterian Church, 1415 Airport Road, Panama City, Florida.

BCGS is now accepting applications for the 2016 awards ceremoney. In order to be accepted for the First Families of Bay County awards ceremony in June 2016, applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2016. Applications received after that date will be considered for the 2017 awards ceremony.
